Ocean & Coasts: Telepresence
A telepresence is advanced broadband satellite communication. This technology allow people to observe and interact with events at a remote location. The telepresence capability allows real images to be transmitted from the ocean floor to scientist ashore, classroom and newsroom. They aboard Exploration Command Centers (ECCs) on the ship so scientist can be able to direct the operation of shipboard equipment. This way scientist can soon explore and discover. What they use to communicate is a "High-bandwidth" which means that a chunk of data can be transmitted from the ship and also have great high definition videos. Also they have a ROV 400m under the ocean surface travel to ECC many miles in just an average of 6 seconds. People use voices communication use an internet based to communicate easier with each other. They also use a communication to send text called " The Eventlog" which allow scientist write their own observation to a common log. On the beginning of 2010 on a expedition only computer were connected to advance network to view videos streams.
