Paper Towel, Water Cup
So for this lab what we had to do is take two cups and a paper towel. In one cup we added water and a red food color and the other one is empty. Then we folded our paper towel and put one end where the water is and the other one in the empty cup. Then we have to wait about 5 minutes for the water to transfer on the paper to the empty cup. At the end after maybe and hour both cups will be half full.
Paper Clip
What we had to do for this lab is how many paper clips can we fill in the cup on top of the water. So we use a tweezer to get our paper clips on top of the water very gently so it wouldn't go down fast. At the end we end up putting 5 paper clips on top of the water.
Salt, Oil and Sugar
Salt Oil Sugar!!!
For this lab we use three cups water, and slat, oil, and sugar. Then we fill up all three cups with water and then we filled one cup with salt and the salt became dense. the second cup we filled it with oil and the oil didn't mixed with the water, it separated, the water was on the bottom and the oil was on top of the water. For the third cup we filled it with sugar and it mixed with the water and also created small bubbles.
How many drops can go on a penny?
For this lab we use one penny and water. What we have to do is how many drops of water could fill a penny. So we use a "droper" to fill the penny with water very slowly and we had to count how many drops that we did. At then end we end up with 45 drops on the penny.
Drop of Water and Alcohol on wax paper
For this lab we use three things, Alcohol, Water, and a Wax Paper. For we made few drops of alcohol onto the wax paper and it was kind of going everywhere. Then we made few drops of water onto the wax paper and it look so cool, the water stayed it didn't go everywhere like the alcohol did. Then what we did we use a pencil and see if we can move the drop of water around the wax paper. And it did move around, then we try on with the drops of alcohol and it didn't work as good as the drops of water.
Drop of alcohol/water on skin
Left side is alcohol and on the Right side is water!!!
For this lab what we used our hands, water and alcohol. What we had to do is see what evaporates faster. So at the same time we made a drop of water and alcohol on a hand and watch. The alcohol was gone in a second and the water was still there. So we notice that the alcohol evaporated really fast that the water.
